Facial treatment in Zaandam

Looking for a facial treatment in Zaandam that gets your skin truly clean? During this deep facial cleanse at Aevum Clinic we remove impurities, blackheads and dead skin cells that your cleanser at home cannot reach. The result is skin that looks fresher and feels cleaner.

How a deep facial cleanse works

We start with a short skin analysis: how does your skin look today and what would you like us to focus on? This is usually followed by these steps: cleansing and removing make-up; a gentle peel to loosen dead skin cells; steam or warm compresses to prepare the pores; carefully removing blackheads and impurities; a mask suited to your skin type; finishing with a nourishing cream and sun protection

Which skin types is a facial suitable for?

A deep cleanse suits most skin types: oily or combination skin with blackheads and clogged pores, but also dry or dull skin that could use some extra attention. If you have sensitive skin or rosacea, we work extra gently and skip steps that could irritate your skin.

When is it better to wait?

In these situations we postpone or adapt the treatment: inflamed acne, open wounds or fresh sunburn on the face; a cold sore, eczema or another skin infection; shortly after a peel, laser or microneedling treatment; use of isotretinoin or other skin medication

How often should you have a deep cleanse?

Your skin renews itself roughly every four to six weeks, which is why many people choose a deep cleanse every four to eight weeks. If your skin clogs quickly, a shorter interval can be pleasant. For dry or sensitive skin, every now and then is often enough. A one-off treatment, for example before a special occasion, is of course also possible.

What can you expect after the treatment?

Right after the treatment your skin feels clean and smooth. Where blackheads were removed, the skin may be a little red for a few hours. Sometimes a spot appears in the days that follow, because the skin has been irritated by the cleansing and the removal of blackheads. This usually clears up by itself.

Preparing for your facial

Preferably avoid scrubs, peels and retinol for two to three days beforehand, and skip sunbathing. We remove your make-up at the start of the treatment. Before your first appointment you fill in our intake and consent form. Not sure which treatment suits your skin? Ask us first via WhatsApp or by phone, or at the start of your first appointment.

Aftercare after your facial

Below are general guidelines. We discuss together after the treatment which aftercare advice suits your skin.

Can a deep cleanse have side effects?

A deep cleanse is a gentle treatment, but your skin can react to it. Temporary redness, some sensitivity or a few spots in the following days are the most common. An allergic reaction to a product is rare; always tell us about known allergies beforehand. We remove blackheads carefully to prevent irritation and small wounds as much as possible. Does a reaction last longer than a few days? Please contact us.
